Bargain: Maizie's Wine of the Month Club

Think of it as a sort of frequent drinker's card.

On my last visit to Maizie's Cafe & Bistro, my waitress handed me a little Wine of the Month Club stamp card to go along with the bottle of wine I ordered.

Turns out, there's a rotating wine special on the chalkboard every month, and with every glass you get, they'll stamp your card. Purchase five glasses, and they'll give you the sixth free.

What's especially nice is that along with the crazy-good-deal Monday burger special (three bucks for burger and fries, for reals!), they also do ten bucks off bottles. And a bottle of the "wine of the month" selection will get you four stamps.

Have you heard of anyone else in town with wine deals like this? If so, please share!

Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
