42: Beer-Battered Green Beans from Tryst Cafe
"Eat your veggies!"
Gladly -- especially if it's at Tryst Café, the casual new eatery of natural, locally sourced ingredients in a strip mall across from Desert Ridge.
The second of three restaurants owned by former Chicagoans Sami and Lisa Khnanisho (Sami's Gyros in Tempe and Mama Gina's Pizzeria at Glendale's Westgate City Center), Tryst know how to get us to eat the green stuff: just say the words, "beer-battered green beans."
Fresh, fried, and lightly coated in Grand Canyon American Pilsner batter, these tasty green beauties are a flavorful pre-meal snack with friends (try to share) or a stand-alone munchie dish with a cold, local brew.
And with dipping sauces of Ranch, blue cheese, chipotle, sriracha aioli, and pesto and cilantro dressing, eating your veggies never has to mean boring.
