Beer Tasting at TOTs, Birthday Luau Party and Balsamic Strawberries in Today's Eater's Digest

Hungry for for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Unique Beer Tasting Tonight
Greg Eccles, owner of Tops Liquors and Taste of Tops just got back from camp. We aren't just talking about your normal singing-songs-by-the-campfire camp either, we're talking about Beer Camp! Eccles spent a couple days with a few other campers in Chico, CA, at Sierra Nevada's beer camp, where they had the opportunity to brew their own beer with some of the best. Tonight you have the chance to sample some of that very beer yourself at Taste of Tops. The special batch of Sierra Nevada Almond Maerzen will be on hand for tasting starting at 6 p.m. Click here for more details.

Visit the Beer Camp website for your own chance to enter to win a trip to Chico for your own Beer Camp experience. You'd better hurry, though -- the deadline for entries is today.

Hau`oli la Hanau, Trader Vic's!
Trader Vic's in Scottsdale is celebrating its 4th birthday with a Luau Party this Sunday, July 11, from 4 to 10 p.m. There will be drink specials, half-off appetizers and even a pig roast, plus island music performed by Mad Hadder. There is no cover charge, and grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts are optional. Check out Trader Vic's facebook page for more info.

Balsamic Strawberries
With just few simple ingredients, ones that should be summertime stapes, you can whip up this super simple quick salad. Strawberry Balsamic Salad with Basil and Feta. Perfect for a hot summer weekend lunch. Also works great with watermelon and tomatoes.
