Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Vino & Cucina
Join Cave & Ives tomorrow night for an evening of wine and food Portico-style. Hosted by Italian wine expert Aldo Zaninotto from the Vietti and Alois Lageder wineries in Italy, the four course dinner will feature tuna tartare, pancetta wrapped shrimp, pappardelle pasta with a black truffle cream sauce, and roasted wild boar. Zaniotto will pair each course with a specially selected wine and speak about the region of the winery, explain the process of how their wine is made, and give you a couple tasting pointers. Reservations are required, $45 ++ per person. Call 602-955-1924 for details.

Pumpkin. Spice. Churros.

It's not officially Fall until the blogosphere is littered with pumpkin posts. That being said -- it's Fall in the food blog world. Make it feel like Fall at your own home with an order of home made Pumpkin Spice Churros. They're super easy to make -- all you need is a pastry bag and a little hot oil. Bakergirl even put 10 helpful churro making tips on her blog. Check it out here

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
