Citizen Public House Opens for Lunch

The Valley's hot ticket is chef Bernie Kantak's brand-new gastropub Citizen Public House, which just opened its doors two weeks ago and specializes in bar snacks with a gourmet spin and contemporary American cuisine tinged with Eastern European influences (think pork belly pastrami with spaetzle and brusssels sprouts sauerkraut). It's all meant to pair perfectly with beer, wine, or cocktails.

Haven't been yet? Now there's even more opportunity to experience Kantak's cooking, since lunch service just kicked in today. Soup, salad, and sandwich specials will eventually be offered, but for now, it's an all-day menu available from 11 a.m. to close, Monday through Saturday.

Given partner and bartender Richie Moe's creative cocktail list (and the fact that he makes a kickass negroni), I'd say this creates a fine opportunity for day drinking.
