Food Day
What the hell is Food Day? We have the answer. Food Day is an organization dedicated to promoting sustainable, healthy food consumption and to making healthy foods more accessible. We hate the name but we love the idea. When is Food Day? Funny you should ask -- it's today. Celebrate Food Day by attending an event in your neighborhood. Yesterday, the folks at the Roosevelt Grow House harvested their organic goods to be used in restaurants around the Valley. Stop by Beckett's Table, Tammie Coe/MJ Breads, Windsor, St. Francis, and more for specialty dishes created for Food Day. Click here for more info and a complete list of restaurants and events.

Halloween Treats

The countdown to Halloween has begun! We hope you have your costumes ready and have started your party planning. First thing on the Halloween menu -- dessert. These Death by Chocolate Cups are super adorable. Plus, they contain yogurt which automatically makes them healthy. Check 'em out here

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
