A stylish friend alerted me to something I can't stop thinking about, even when it's well past breakfast time:
Jim's Pancakes, a series of whimsical and wildly creative pancakes that a blogger-dad lovingly creates for his three-year-old blonde cherub of a daughter.
From pancake eyeglasses and jewelry, to a zoo-ful of pancake critters, Jim cooks up such obsessively detailed pancakes that they remind me of how inventive Japanese moms have turned their kids' lunchboxes into edible art. Some of these dishes are much more like sculpture than food, even though they're all from the same batter. The blog gallery will really put a smile on your face (while likely making you feel like a slacker as well).
Most amazing of all is Jim's intricate pancake dinosaur. Did I just hear it roar, or was that just my stomach growling?
