Poutine in the middle of summer?
That's right, Caffe Boa Bistro in Mesa is serving up hot plates of Canadian comfort food -- that is, fries embellished with mushroom gravy and cheese. Owner Christine Wisniewski is Canadian, so this is her brainchild.
The notion struck me as sort of funny and seasonally inappropriate, until I realized I'm sitting here drinking hot coffee and wearing a cardigan, freezing my ass off in an over-air-conditioned office despite the outside temperatures. On second thought, I'd be happy to eat poutine and drink a cold beer right this second.
