Support the independent voice of Phoenix and help keep the future of New Times free.
Yesterday we met Jenna Cacciamani, bartender at Tempe pizza place/beer bar Mellow Mushroom. Today she shares with us the recipe for the Baked Pear Martini, a drink she created that's on the restaurant's menu.
"The prickly pear vodka comes from a local place," Cacciamani says. "We try to do that whenever we can. I also tend to make most of my drinks high in alcohol. This one is all-booze, with no mixers."
The ingredients:
1 ½ oz. Prickly Pear Vodka
1 oz. Grey Goose Pear
½ oz. Apple Pucker
Agave nectar
Cinnamon sugar rim
Slice of pear
How to make it:
Pour the vodkas and Pucker into an ice-filled shaker. Add agave nectar and shake well. Wet the rim of a martini glass and dip it into some cinnamon sugar. Strain the liquids into this martini glass. Garnish with a pear slice and a dash of cinnamon.
