Remember back in of December when I told you that the famed Magnolia Bakery in New York was going to start shipping their cupcakes nationwide? Well here they are. Aren't they pretty?

As a huge fan of the bakery's cupcakes (and cookies, and brownies, and coffee, and aprons) and without plans to make it to New York or Los Angeles anytime soon, I had to get my hands on a box of my favorite cakes.

Last week, I received my box of six classic cupcakes -- three chocolate and three vanilla -- and then, throwing all self-control out the door, I polished them all off in two days. Even after being frozen and shipped across country, the cupcakes arrived at my front door looking pretty as a picture and they tasted almost like they were baked fresh that day. Cupcake heaven.

There is one catch though -- shipping a box of cupcakes to Phoenix isn't cheap. Having a box of six shipped to my 85281 zip code cost about $50. I"m not so sure if i'll be shelling out that kinda of cash on a regular basis but they would make a really nice gift for your favorite cupcake enthusiast. Click here to visit the bakery's website -- if you dare.

Have you ever heard of the Good Food Awards? We hadn't either until we stumbled upon the 2012 winners list yesterday online.

The Good Food Awards "highlight responsible local food endeavors," meaning that the products need to be produced with care and concern for communities and the environment.

The awards ceremony was held in San Francisco last Friday and while we didn't see a single Arizona team on the winners list we did notice that couple of our favorite out-of state beer brewers made the list. Odell's, Lagunitas, New Belgium, Hopworks, and Alaskan all made it to the winners circle. Congratulation guys! Check out the full list of winners here
