Yesterday we met Miles Buckles, who heads the bar at the downtown spot Hanny's -- they of the penis-shaped couches and confusing bathrooms. A bourbon man, today Buckles shares with us the recipe for the Pomegranate Julep, a simple yet delicious cocktail tinged with pomegranate sweetness and backed by manly bourbon. It's dangerously drinkable.
1 ½ oz. Bulleit bourbon
¾ oz. Luxardo maraschino liqueur
1 oz. Pomegranate molasses
Ginger ale to fill
How to make it:
Mix the bourbon, liqueur and molasses in an ice-filled shaker. Shake well and pour into a rocks glass. Top with ginger ale and garnish with a cherry.
