The Phoenix dining scene has its fair share of hip, casual restaurants with refined taste -- Windsor, Tuck Shop, and The Parlor, to name a few -- and soon enough Nook will open its door in Arcadia with hopes to be on that list. First, they need to gather a team of kitchen and customer-focused staff that will run like a well-oiled machine.

Nook Kitchen is looking for 30 people to fill both front and back of house positions, who will work together to create a comfortable, homey dining experience that centers on indulgent, chef-driven meals. The hiring fair will be on Monday, August 26.

This quaint new concept is the brainchild of industry veteran Frank Vairo and Tagan Dering, who opened Cave Creek's Amaro Pizzeria and Vino Lounge in 2010. Of the latest venture, Dering says, "Nook will embody everything we love about Arcadia. It will be classy, hip and upscale, yet disarmingly unpretentious. The goal is to treat guests like we would in our own homes - to welcome them in, grab them a beer or glass of wine and chat about what's for dinner."

Nook Kitchen is located at 3623 E Indian School Road in Phoenix, where the hiring fair will be held. Interviews will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the following positions:

Front of house • 3 bartenders • 4 hosts/hostesses • 5 servers

Back of house • 4 pizza cooks • 9 line cooks • 5 dishwashers
