For those that missed my First Taste of Arizona's first Raising Cane's, the Louisiana-based chicken fingers chain which opened in September at 2715 West Peoria Avenue (1-17 & Peoria Ave), you can read all about it here.

For those in the know, the grand opening of a second location of the love child of Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out Burger, and T.G.I. Friday's will happen at 10 a.m., this Friday, December 16, at at 4325 East Thomas Road (44th Street and Thomas) in the Arcadia area.

And get this: the first 104 people in line snag a free chicken fingers box combo meal and a chance at winning a year of free chicken fingers. (Which kinda seems like waaaay too many chicken fingers, but hey, maybe you could share.)

For some reason, ASU's Sparky will be on hand as will Santa -- and you can get your pic taken with him (Santa, not Sparky, but probably Sparky, too) if you make a donation to ChildHelp in the form of money or a toy.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
