Now, before you get all up in arms about our insensitivity to the thin set, we're just talking about Kim Barnouin, co-author of the Skinny Bitch in the Kitch series. Barnouin is making a guest appearance at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Changing Hands Bookstore, 6428 S. McClintock Dr. in Tempe, to discuss her latest offering -- Skinny Couple in a Box

The two-book gift set includes the original Skinny Bitch and its companion piece, Skinny Bastard. If you haven't heard of the SB books, Barnouin and co-author Rory Freedman basically promote a meat-free, dairy-free diet that focuses on veggies and grains. Bastard tailors the tips for men, teaching boys to "get rid of the gut" and pointing out which foods can be bad for their, er, manparts.
