Spiced Pumpkin Cream Cheese Recipe and Gus Beisel Wins Floridino's Inaugrual Pizza-Muffin Eating Contest

A round-up of tasty morsels from Valley food blogs.

You know you can't resist the pumpkin cream cheese schmear at your favorite bagel shop this season. Handle the Heat shares how to do it at home. We wanted to give you this recipe since we know this will be handy just in case you get a hankering Thanksgiving morning.

This is the picture of a happy guy. Tempe x-ray technician, Gus Beisel made enough room to eat more pizza-muffins than all the rest on Saturday's contest at Floridino's in Chandler. Mouth by Southwest has a play by play of the whole event. Beisel won by putting away 29 muffins in 10 minutes. The hilarious (and awesome) part is that the winner receives "choice of year's supply of pizza muffins or year's membership to a gym." We wonder if he'll be working out in order to gear up for next year's contest. That's some impressive eating Mr. Beisel.

Hey metro Phoenix eaters, if you have a food blog or know of one we've missed, leave word in the comments section.
