Steinbeck Snacked on Cold Toast and Stale Coffee -- Drawings of the Snacks of Literary Greats

Why is it that drawings of food make us so happy? Maybe it's similar to how real books are so much better than the movie adaptations -- we get to use our imagination. Imagine our delight when we stumbled upon Mary MacNaughton's illustrations of famous authors and their go-to snacks as posted on the New York Times' web site.

Nuh-uh. So so awesome.

For some of us, it's Peanut M&Ms. That wouldn't look as distinguished as a cold old fashioned cocktail or dainty crudite, but hey, it's how we roll.

What do you snack on while you work?
