What We Ate: California Pizza Kitchen Crispy thin Crust Frozen Pizza
BBQ recipe Chicken with white meat chicken, mozzarella, gouda, red onion, cilantro and bbq sauce.
The Facts: 410 calories, 15g fat (6g saturated fat), 700g sodium and 48g of carbs
Looks: Holy cow that sure is a lot of onions! It looks like they made up for the lack of chicken by piling on as many onions as possible. They might have forgotten to put cilantro on this one because there is only one tiny sad green leaf. But the worst part was the pale and sickly looking crust. It looks far worse in person then in this photo.
Taste: Why do I keep doing this to myself?! If you ever find yourself in the frozen food isle thinking a tiny frozen microwave pizza a good choice, it's not. Really, just put it back.
I'm shocked that I didn't break a tooth (and I have great teeth) on the hard as a rock crust that reminded me of a saltine cracker. An extremely hard saltine cracker. They sure weren't joking about it being crispy. Thank goodness the chicken was sparse because it tasted like something from the bottom of a dumpster. Dry, tough and the most unappetizing part of the whole mess. The barbecue sauce was reminiscent of the restaurant's but was marred by the amount of red onions. And speaking of red onions, even after picking half of them off, I'm still going to have to stay away from my co-workers for the rest of the day.
Score: on a scale of 1- 10; we would give this a 2. We would rather skip lunch altogether then have to suffer through this again.
