Weekend Eats

Three Things to Eat, Drink, and Bake this Weekend

Happy weekend and Happy Father's Day to all the dads and dads to be out there.

This weekend we've got a tasty burger waiting for us out in Gilbert, an afternoon of craft beer drinkin' to do, and a sinful dish of bacon wrapped treats to make. It's going to be a busy one!

Check out what's on our plate.

Eat This: The Avenger Burger at Liberty Market -- Since dad is obviously the best superhero out there, spoil him this weekend with a superhero burger from Gilbert's Liberty Market. Each week the restaurant features a "burger of the week" and this weeks is The Avenger Burger. A 100% ground chuck patty with Cabozola cheese, roasted mushrooms, mixed greens, and a guava glaze served with kettle chips. Dad will love it!

Drink This: A Cold Pint of Barrio Beer at O.H.S.O. -- Ready to do some day drinkin'? Tomorrow, join Arcadia tap house O.H.S.O and Tucson's Barrio Brewing Co. for an afternoon of craft beers as they work to raise money for Peoria's Mischief Brewing Company. Barrio beers will take over the back patio and $1 from each beer sold will go to help Mischief reach their Kickstarter goal. Also, if you mention Mischief, O.H.S.O. will donate 20% of your bill to Mischief. Brewery team work at its finest!

Eat This: Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers -- Normally these don't come out of the recipe box until Super Bowl time, but a certain dad requested them for his Father's Day dinner. Treat your dad (or just yourself) to a plate of these spicy, bacon, cheesy peppers. They're guaranteed to be a hit!
