Three Things to Eat, Drink, and Bake this Weekend

Happy weekend Chow Bella friends!

We're going to sweat it out this weekend with a little bit of barbecue at one of Phoenix's newest restaurants, then we're popping over to Tempe to check out their newest beer bar, and wrapping things up with a easy pasta meal.

Here's what's on our plate...

Eat This: Five-Course BBQ & Cocktail Dinner at Blue Hound Kitchen -- Tomorrow night, Executive Chef Stephen Jones and his kitchen team will be cooking up five-courses of delicious barbecue to celebrate the end of summer (we're not so sure if they know we still have at least another month of triple digits left). Dinner starts with a hamachi amuse, straw mushroom salad and a house made hot link. Carolina style pulled pork with okra and grits will be served as the entree and an Indian Gold peach cobbler with maple bacon ice cream finishes thing off. Each course will be paired with a unique cocktail creation from the mixologist Shel Bourdon. $55 per person, seating is limited. Call 602-258-0231 to save your seat.

Drink This: Lots of Beer at World of Beer -- Mill Avenue now has its very own craft beer bar -- a corporate beer bar, but still a craft beer bar! We've been hearing about Tempe's newest addition for months now and World of Beer is finally open for business. Cruise down to Mill this weekend to enjoy one of their 54 draft beer selection or one of over 500 bottles from their wall of coolers. True craft beer lovers may be a little disappointed by the draft selection but the new guys have craft favorites like Bear Republic's Racer 5 and Big Sky's Ivan The Terrible Imperial Stout, and it's a great spot for the craft beer newbie. If you're looking for a bit of hometown beer action, Four Peaks will be in the house from noon to 6 p,m, Saturday with a couple of their rare beers on tap like Sirius Black and Double Knot, and Short Leash Hot Dogs will be serving dogs out front.

Bake This: Pasta Filled Tomatoes -- Instead of putting tomatoes in your weekend pasta, how about putting your pasta in a tomato? Whip up this super easy pasta dish, stuff the mixture in a couple big ripe tomatoes and then pop them in the oven for about 30 minutes for a quick and semi-healthy dinner. Enjoy!
