They'll be popping bottles of Veuve Clicqout this week at the Hotel Valley Ho's ZuZu for the annual Champagne Chef's Table event. On Monday at 6 p.m. guests will start with cocktails, courtesy of Belvedere vodka, before sitting down for a four course dinner with champagne parings. The menu includes Porcini Wild Mushroom Roulade paired with Ruinart Blanc de Blanc and Blue Crab & Kale Salad (pictured above) with Veuve Clicquot Imperial Rose. Krispy Kreme Chandler Tuesday, December 10

There are going to be a lot (like, thousands) of free doughnuts up for grabs when the newest Kripsy Kreme location in the Valley opens its doors on Tuesday. The new shop will be at 1055 West Chandler Blvd., and plans to open at 5:30 a.m. The first person in the dine-in (lobby) line will receive one free dozen Original Glazed doughnut every week for a year, and the next 100 people in line will get one dozen free doughnuts every month of a year. And if you're too lazy to get out of your car, be first in the drive-thru line to win a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every week for a year. The first 12 drive-thru customers will get the same prize every month for a year.

Palo Verde Restaurant at The Boulders Wednesday, December 11

This week The Boulder's Palo Verde restaurant is hosting an Argentinian Wine Dinner that gives you good reason to make the drive. The dinner will include three courses prepared by Executive Chef Michel Pieton, including Sweet and Spicy Jumbo Prawns served with corn and bacon succotash, creamy corn emulsion and spiced popcorn that will be paired with Catena "Alta" Chardonnay 2010. Dessert will be Honey and Rose Panna Cotta with fresh berries and pistachio crumbles, paired with Alma Negra, Sparkling Rose. The event costs $95 person. Jewel's Bakery and Cafe Thursday, Decemeber 12

Gluten-free diners get ready because this Thursday Phoenix's Jewel's Bakery and Cafe offically opens. The gluten-less bakery and cafe will be serving baked goods (including cupcakes) as well as breakfast and lunch. Menu items will include sandwiches, salads and freshly-fried gluten-free doughnuts. The Cutting Board Cafe Friday, December 13

If you're cutting out the dairy but still want to enjoy things like pizza and lasagna then you'll probably want to listen up. This Friday Health Educator and Plant Based Chef Carol Roberge will be at Mesa's The Cutting Board Cafe to demonstrate how to make your own nut milks and cheeses. Attendees will learn learn the basics of how to make fermented nut cheese as well as how the cheeses can be used to thicken soups or makes smoothies and eggnog. Tickets to the demonstration, which starts at 6 p.m., cost $5 and can be purchased at the door though reservations are recommended. Call 480-654-8081. The Cutting Board Café will be serving whole-food, plant based foods and juices during the event.
