In celebration of five years in business, Gilbert's Liberty Market is offering $5 Tower Burgers and $5 22-ounce Liberty Ale from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. If you drop by the restaurant's 5 Year Anniversary party, you'll also find special desserts, and you can enter a drawing for gift cards. This will also serve as a chance to check out what they're calling "Liberty Market 2.0," an upgrade of the popular East Valley restaurant. Improvements include upholstered booths, the addition of local art, and an upgraded menu.
Twestival Phoenix 2013 Tuesday, October 15
Social media mavens and food lovers will have plenty to do Tuesday, when Twestival Phoenix hits The Clayton on the Park in Scottsdale at 6 p.m. The event will be a fundraiser for Teen Lifeline, a suicide-prevention organization that will receive 100 percent of the proceeds. Tickets to the event cost $20, which will get you food and drinks from sponsors such as Butter and Me, Crepe Bar, Joe's Real BBQ, Orange Table and Posh. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event for prizes from donors including Cork Restaurant, FnB Restaurant, GoodyTwos, Joe's Real BBQ, Noca, Petite Maison, Pistol Whipped Pastry, Sweet Republic, T. Cook's, and Tracey Dempsey Originals. Tickets can be purchased online.
Market Street Kitchen Thursday, October 17
This week, chef Matt Taylor of Market Street Kitchen is bringing "Wine of the Year" winner Joseph Phelps Vineyards to the Valley. The Napa Valley winery, which took home Wine Spectator magazine's highest award in 2002, will bring its newest vintages, including its flagship Insignia wine, a Bordeaux-style red blend considered one of the world's great wines. Chef Taylor also will pair a five-course dinner of dishes such as Maine lobster roll, Caroline gold rice grit risotto and butter poached venison loin. Tickets to the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., cost $150 each. To reserve a spot call 480-278-7044.

A dinner of food prepared by one James Beard Award winner is a treat, and this Friday, the foundation has assembled a powerhouse lineup of award-winning chefs for an evening of food and drink. Taste America All-Star Suzanne Goin is teaming up with Chris Bianco, Nobuo Fukuda, Christopher Gross, Vincent Guerithault, Robert McGrath, RoxSand Scocos McCreary, Janos Wilder, and Chris Masco for a four-course dinner and cocktail reception. The special menu will feaure "dual plates," or side-by-side pairings of two dishes all of which will be Southwest-inspired. The cocktail reception begins at 7 p.m. with dinner at start at 8 p.m. at the Westin Keirland. Tickets cost $250 a person and can be purchased online.

The secret's officially out about chef Michael O'Dowd's innovative cuisine at this North Scottsdale spot, and if you didn't already have an excuse to get out there, we've got another. From now through the end of the year, you can cash in on an Arizona Restaurant Week-inspired deal: three courses for just $30 bucks. The special menu will change monthly to reflect seasonal availability but October means dishes like heirloom tomatoes, smoked duck pastrami and Kobe chicken "jerked" and sweet potato casserole.
