If you're still hustling to get all of the Best Picture nominees watched before the Oscars on February 24, don't starve yourself doing it. We've been pairing up dinner and movies just so you'd be ready for Oscar season. While we didn't hit all of the nominees, we got most of them and have ideas for those that we didn't try already. If you can contain yourself at the concession stand, there are plenty of tasty meals to go along with your movie outings.

Django Unchained and Dinner at Baby Kay's
One of the only things we had in common with the horribly villainous Calvin Candie is our love of the French, but since we did French food last week, we decided to go Franco American down to the Bayou for some Cajun cookin' at Baby Kay's. The Cajun staple in the Town and Country shopping center has been a favorite of ours for years for their tasty gumbo and sides.
Les Miserables and Dinner at Scratch Pastries
While the main courses at Scratch are delicious and very reasonably priced, there's a reason pretty much every customer walks up to the counter right after being seated: the pastry case. The macarons are luxurious and rich, especially the buttery salted caramel and floral blueberry lavender. Luckily for us, the macarons, parfaits and mousse sang, even though Russell Crowe could not.
Life of Pi and Dinner at The Dhaba
Although Ang Lee's take on the book was visually stunning, with some exceptions to cheesy CGI effects, the forced sense of spirituality and the promise of a rekindling of faith fell short. However, we knew our faith in The Dhaba wouldn't be betrayed.
Lincoln and Dinner at Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe
I was sure this movie would make me sad, and it delivered. That's why I planned ahead to go to get some comfort food afterwards [at Mrs. White's].
Silver Linings Playbook and Dinner at Legends Sports Bar
While the ending is pretty obvious, the genuine moments of heartache, confusion, pain and anger make it worthwhile. Plus, Robert DeNiro and Jacki Weaver shine as Pat's flawed but loving parents. Hopefully, we can find something to love at [Legends] this week just like Pat and Tiffany found each other.
We didn't get a chance to see every Best Picture nominee this year, so here's what we'd pair with the movies we left out.

Best Foreign Language Film Nominee: A Royal Affair with Haus Murphy's
Overall, Haus Murphy's seems to be the kind of place you could take your great grandmother and youngest cousin; its lack of flavor is sure to satiate, but not intrigue, any palate. It's a pretty bad sign in my crowd when the desert doesn't even have enough flavor to keep our sweet teeth munching, but this time we left some of our strudel uneaten. What if we could make a restaurant with the authenticity of Haus Murphy's and the zest and spice of Struensee's lust? Surely it would end less tragically than both the movie and dinner did this week.
