Happy Birthday!
Celebrate the third anniversary of WineStyles this weekend at their Paradise Valley location. The party starts tonight at 5 with beer and wine tastings from local Arizona breweries and vineyards. Sample treats from the Queen Creek Olive Mill, Artisanal Cheeses, DeCio Pasta, and loose leaf teas from Maya Tea Company. The Friday night tastings end around 8 and will run you $10 if you are not a member, $5 if you are. Buy a bottle of wine and they will reimburse you the cost of the tasting. The party resumes Saturday at 2 p.m. and live music will begin at 5:30 p.m. Click here for more details.

End of Summer Cocktail

This is the time of the year that we kinda wanna kick the rest of the country in the face. While they all get to roll out their fall soups and talk about sweaters, we continue to rot away in the heat embracing the "cooler" weather when the thermostat hits 99 degrees. At least we can still sit outside and sip tropical cocktails for another month or three. Discover your inner mixologist and shake up this fruity "Farewell to Summer" cocktail. Be sure to be mentally flipping the rest of the country the bird while you sit outside in your favorite pair of shorts.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
