Both teams stood during the national anthem as fireworks filled the sky for the 2018 opening game in Phoenix.
After giving up a solo home run in the first inning to DJ LeMahieu, Patrick Corbin pitched a gem of a game only, giving up two runs as the Arizona Diamondbacks routed NL West rival Colorado Rockies 8-2 on Opening Day at Chase Field. It wasn't just the pitching that stood out in the team's victory as Jake Lamb had a good night at the plate and drove in four runs. Newcomer Jarrod Dyson also had a pair of hits, including a triple, and scored two runs in his D-backs debut.
