Local gamers of all ages got to travel back to the halcyon heyday of joysticks and high scores on Friday, September 19, during the latest edition of
Captain Cutaneum's Arcade '85 in Gilbert. The pop-up arcade, which is operated by local dermatologist Dr. Ruskin Lines III, opens its “time portal” into yesteryear every couple of months and offers the chance to drop quarters into a slew of classics games from the mid-1980s -- including
Crossbow,
Jungle Hunt,
Punch-Out!,
Astro Blasters,
Star Trek, and
Pole Position -- while throwback jams from Blondie, George Thorogood, and Night Ranger play from an old record player. Game on!
