Club Candids at Sandbar in Chandler

"Chandler nightlife" sounds like an oxymoron. Sure, there's a skatepark and a big mall, but unless you're a teenager borrowing your parents' car, the town isn't exactly a nightlife hot spot.

The town is in need of businesses that stay open past 10 p.m. There are a few such places peppered along Ray Road, but it's clear that Sandbar is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights when you're south of the 60.

Upon entering the beach-themed bar and restaurant, patrons are greeted by bikini-clad waitresses who will lay you if you're lucky (but not in the way you're thinking, perv). The gals serve up colorful necklaces and tropical drinks for the thirsty beach faring crowd. The ambiance is key, with the large, colorful patio showing off Christmas lights, umbrellas, and LOTS of sand.

The bar had a bit of a mixed crowd, but there were plenty of summer dress-sporting ladies dancing to the beats of resident DJ Jeff Metcalf. He kept the dancefloor going with Top 40 and rap hits, giving patrons the opportunity to groove to Michael Jackson, The Ting Tings, Britney Spears, and Carly Rae Jepsen all in one evening.
