First Friday in Downtown Phoenix: March 2016
The annual “Mutant Piñata Show” curated by local arts maven Beatrice Moore at the Chartreuse gallery inside Bragg’s Pie Factory was one of the major highlights of the monthly First Friday art walk on March 4 in downtown Phoenix. Other standout shows included “The Real Nitty Gritty” group show featuring the works of local street artists at monOrchid, painter Lauren Lee’s solo exhibition at {9} The Gallery, and the ink and watercolor works created by Chela Chelinski at Abloom Salon.
As per usual with First Fridays, there was a lot of other activity (arts-related and otherwise) taking place along both Roosevelt Row and Grand Avenue, including everything from impromptu rap battles to plenty of free hugs being given out.
