Lynda Carter Joining These 12 Arizona Celebrities on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman, will be getting her star in 2018. No date has been announced as to when, all we know is sometime in 2018. Carter was born in Phoenix and also attended ASU.

Rex Allen. Who was known as the "Arizona Cowboy," was an actor, singer and narrator of more than 80 Walt Disney films. He was born in Winslow, AZ and died in Tucson, AZ. He received his star in 1975.

Steve Allen. He attended Arizona State Teachers College before it was renamed to Arizona State University. He got his first radio job in Phoenix as host for KOY, (now KFYI 2 on 1230 AM), but more noticeably his claim to fame was as the first host of The Tonight Show in 1954. He actually has two stars on the Walk of Fame. One for radio, and one TV in 1960, part of the first ever class.

Maria Vassett
Glen Campbell is a country singer who's career took off in the '60s-'70s. He recorded over 70 albums selling more than 45 million copies. Campbell owned a house in the Biltmore Estates of Phoenix with his wife.

Alice Cooper received his star in 2003. He is a singer, song-writer and actor whose career has spanned five decades. He also owns Alice Cooper'stown by Chase Field. He grew up in Phoenix and attended Cortez High School in Glendale.

Ted Danson, (Cheers, CSI, The Good Place) received his star on the Walk of Fame in 1999. He's a two-time Emmy and three-time Golden Globe winner who grew up in Flagstaff.

Born in Prescott, Rosemary Decamp is an actress known for Yankee Doodle Dandy and also an Emmy-nominee for The Bob Cummings Show, which she starred on from 1955-1959. She was also part of the first class on the Walk of Fame in 1960.

Andy Devine was born in Flagstaff, raised in Kingman and attended Northern Arizona University when it was called Northern Arizona State Teachers College. His claim to fame was as a comedic character actor and cowboy sidekick. Plus his very distinct voice. He also received his star in 1960 as part of the first class.

Tom Mix was Hollywood's first Western megastar. He appeared in 291 films, all but nine were silent. He won riding and roping contests in Prescott, and eventually died outside Florence in a horrific car accident where there is a small stone memorial set up in his honor a the site of the accident on Arizona State Route 79. Mix received his star posthumously in 1960, with the first class.

Wayne Newton aka Mr. Las Vegas is known as a famous singer and entertainer. He received his Walk of Fame star in 1976. He moved to Phoenix in 1952 with his family because he had severe asthma and the dry climate helped him.

Melissa Fossum
Stevie Nicks technically doesn't have her own star, she shares it with her famous band Fleetwood Mac. They collectively received it in 1979. They are going to embark on a farewell tour sometime in 2018. Nicks was born in Phoenix and lived in Paradise Valley from 1981-2007.

The 2018 Hollywood Walk of Fame inductees were announced on Thursday with several top celebrities getting their star, including Lin Manuel-Miranda, RuPaul, Weird Al Yankovich, Taraji P. Henson, Mark Hamill, and Phoenix-native Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman.
There have been at least 12 other celebrities with significant Arizona connections to receive their star on the Walk of Fame in history, as seen here.
