Phoenix Interrupted in Photos

Downtown Phoenix is looking better these days, but residents know it's still very much a neighborhood in transition, as Sarah Fenske reports in this week's column, "Phoenix Interrupted." The Valley's real estate boom triggered lots of pricey new housing but now that we're in a bust, not all of it has finished, much less found buyers. Meanwhile, other projects stalled even before breaking ground, leaving plenty of vacant lots around the new development. Downtown Phoenix is suspended in a weird, half-finished state. We set photographer Jamie Peachey loose to capture the Zeitgeist.
