Public Art Inspired by Quasars, Bike Culture, and Desert Landscapes

After seeing Lily Reeves' Quasar sculpture go up along Scottsdale Road, we figured it was time to get out and explore new public art offerings in several Valley cities — including Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler. We found some fun new offerings, but also some classics. And we found them in all sorts of places — including libraries, parks, quaint neighborhood streets, and busy city byways. Here's a look at some of the diverse offerings in metro Phoenix public art, along with a friendly reminder that now is the time to enjoy them — while you can still stroll and bike your way around in cool temperatures. Check back now and then to see new images of additional works of public art in metro Phoenix. All photos by Lynn Trimble
