The last First Friday of the year was one to remember with art, fashion, music, drag, photography, shopping, and festival-goers. On Roosevelt Row, we explored photography inside and out at monOrchid as well as a few booths along the way. The Phoenix Art Museum threw a huge First Friday bash complete with performers, DJs, and a new color theory exhibit. Grand Avenue was the hub for holiday shoppers looking for the perfect gift. With the amount of red dots at {9} The Gallery and Grand ArtHaus, we say it was a success. Bill Dambrova's newest show at Chartreuse brought out all the abstract lovers. When the galleries closed at 10 p.m., Live On Central and Unexpected Gallery were just getting started. Local photographer Scott Kirby had his drag queen photography exhibit at Live on Central and, of course, had to throw a party to celebrate. The monthly official First Friday after party, Ancient Future, felt like something out of a Burning Man dream at Unexpected.
