Smashing Pumpkins Kick Off Their Long-Awaited Reunion Tour in Glendale

Smashing Pumpkins' Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour 2018 was announced back in February, and what a privilege it was to have it kick off in Glendale, Arizona, at Gila River Arena on Thursday, July 12. The 40+ city tour is the band's first in nearly 20 years to feature founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha. The crowd was filled with both longtime listeners chasing nostalgia, and new fans. The band played over 30 songs, and the set list includes "Disarm", "Solara", "Try, Try, Try" and their memorable covers of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" and David Bowie's "Space Oddity." Indie rock band Metric opened.
