TEDxPhoenixChange Talks by Amy Scerra, Bob Beard, and Chell Roberts are Online, Plus an Art Project Launch by Safwat Saleem

If you missed TEDxPhoenixChange on April 7, the event's organizers have good news -- you can catch up with the ideas shared and questions explored online.

The four talks, given by Amy Scerra, Bob Beard, Chell Robert, and Safwat Saleem aimed to disrupt the community (in a good way) and get people to talk about their ideas, projects, hypotheses, and challenges for Phoenix.

During the event, Amy Scerra shared stories of female entrepreneurs all over the globe, Professor Chell Roberts talked about his current mission to rebuild higher education in a multi-disciplinary fashion that focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship, and Bob Beard (who contributes to Jackalope Ranch) shared his thoughts on geek culture, fandom, and creating an open source environment for nerdom.

TEDxPhoenixChange also included a surprise TEDxTalk by Phoenix artist Safwat Saleem, who was named a 2013 TEDFellow. Saleem gave his TEDx talk at the national conference earlier this year, and took the stage in Tempe in April to talk about his latest project -- Pardon Me, But WTF?.

Saleem describes his project as an attempt to make sense of bullshit by turning it into a piece of artwork. Stories are submitted through the project's website and Saleem curates and creates short animations in response.

A Fact / Pardon Me, But WTF? #3 from safwat on Vimeo.

Saleem has made a name for himself creating work about race, social injustice, immigration, land use, and Islamophobia. But he says Pardon Me, But WTF? will be rooted less in politics and more in personal narrative (a This American Life meets Post Secret, he says).

To submit your own tales of bullshit, check out the Pardon Me, But WTF? website and stay tuned for updates.
