New York-born DJ Kid Capri is one of the most recognized names in hip-hop turntablism, having been scratching since the tender age of 8. With a résumé that includes tours with P. Diddy, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Usher, and Aaliyah, a stint as the live DJ on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam, and production credits with Snoop, KRS-One, Slick Rick, Jermaine Dupri, and other monster playaz, Capri has a career that dwarfs most DJs', and that's reflected on his multitude of mix tapes and in his party-rockin' club sets. You get to check it out firsthand this Friday night, January 21, at Myst, where DJ MCB will open for him. Doors open at 9 p.m., and admission is the regular $10 cover charge. Don't miss the chance to see a legend.
