Rock 'N' Roll Tsars

“Rolling Stones of Russia” bring “rockapops” sound to the Ranch

To the good people here in the States, Russia is generally equated with vodka, Communism, and Sarah Palin’s formerly “watchful eye.” Rock ’n’ roll? Not so much.

Lucky for us, insanely popular (in Russia) band Mumiy Troll is determined to change that. MT’s catchy “rockapops” sound is kind of like The B-52s singing lead for Franz Ferdinand, but with a mildly disturbing edge. The video for "Me Eskimo (My Polar Bear)," for example, mixes furry fetishes with some very large and naughty pickles.

Catch the “Rolling Stones of Russia” during an all-ages show at Martini Ranch & Shaker Room.
