Good Eats

Full disclosure: I was at last year's Arizona Taco Festival, competing (for reasons I'm still trying to justify) in the Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest. From my view on the main stage (and through the fiery torment the peppers inflicted), I saw some cool stuff: masked luchadores throwing down, Valley taco pros dishing out their best recipes, and live bands performing for nearly 10,000 people who attended.

Luckily I'll get another chance to experience it all at the Second Annual Arizona Taco Festival. Year dos will feature everything that made last year's festival bueno, including a tequila expo with 100 types of boutique booze, a margarita challenge, and more than 40 teams of taco geniuses cooking off. And there will be another Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest -- though it's certainly not for the faint of heart.
