La Pizzetta: Classic Cooking Academy Owners Open Restaurant in North Scottsdale

Since 2007 Classic Cooking Academy in North Scottsdale has offered professional and recreational cooking classes on everything from pastry to pizza. Now the school's director, chef Pascal Dionot, and his wife, Donna, have expanded their culinary ventures to open a restaurant that focuses on wood fired pizzas. 

Called La Pizzetta, the restaurant is located at 10411 E. McDowell Mountain Ranch Road in Scottsdale. The 1,500-square-foot eatery opened its doors in early April and offers a variety of salads, starters, and pizzas. Pizzas, however, are the stars of the menu, and are made with imported Italian flour in a Valoriani pizza oven that was also made in Italy. 

Pascal Dionot brings more than 30 years of hotel and restaurant management experience to the new venture. His resume includes executive chef positions at several top Washington D.C. restaurants including the historic Hay-Adams Hotel. Donna manages the business side with a background as an accountant

La Pizzetta is open for pick-up or dine-in Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m.

Please note that food quality is extremely important to us, and wood-fired pizzas are best eaten fresh out of the oven. For take-out orders, your pizza will be fired as soon as you arrive. It takes less than 2 minutes to cook in our 900 degree oven.
