East Valley residents with a love for country music and southern eats will have quite a drive to get their fix now that Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill has closed at Mesa Riverview.

The restaurant and bar is moving all the way up to North Phoenix, specifically to the High Street dining/retail/residential complex at 5310 East High Street. An official opening date for the new location has yet to be announced, but in the meantime the Toby Keith's location in Peoria remains open.

The original Mesa location of Toby Keith's opened in 2009 and was joined by a second spot in Peoria last year. The chain of restaurant/bars currently consists of 16 locations nationwide.

Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill in Mesa, named for the namesake country singer's 2003 single "I Love This Bar," served a menu of Southern-style American food -- as in ribs, chicken wings, and fried bologna sandwiches. The spot was also known for hosting live county concerts and DJs.
