The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $15,000 by August 9.
If there’s one thing that P-Town has its fair share of, it’s DJ collectives. There’s the VinylTech DJs (who dig on the house music thing), the Overmind Works crew (focusing in psytrance and downtempo jams), or perhaps the Ultra Lounge DJs (who are all over the musical map). But none of these turntablist cabals have as expansive a rosters as the Dirt Assasinz, which boasts a staggering lineup of 13 different mixmasters, each specializing in a specific genre or flavor of EDM. For instance, Brook B. (pictured) likes spinning up breakbeats and electro-house, while Adam John does the drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep thing, and Rob Kwik focuses on electro-breaks. You can witness all three of these wax workers in actions (as well as the DA’s DJ Louder) as they take over Myst during BoomboxXx.
