Atomic Comics has been hosting anime events since Straw Hat Luffy was in short pants.
“We don’t just run the event — for us, it’s personal,” says Aaron Forrester, assistant store manager at the Atomic Comics Chandler Superstore, panel member for costume creation at Phoenix Comicon, and outfitter of his own Iron Man armor. “And this year, we’re using the empty store next to us for video game tournaments.”
The 12-hour manga-rama will see cosplayers and casuals alike creating their own characters, playing Name That (Anime) Tune, dancing with the Café Moe maids, and watching Naruto on the big screen.

Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
