See firsthand why Phoenix-based galleries and artists are finally getting national recognition at Artlink’s First Friday and Art Detour 22. Highlights of the self-guided gallery tour include an open house at Jordre Studios with artists Mark Burleson and Kyle Jordre (1007 Grand Avenue); colorful new art by Robyn Kingsley and Sierra Joy at Trunk Space (1506 Grand Avenue); and the return of Shag to Perihelion Arts (610 East Roosevelt Street). This is the third local showing for Shag (aka – Josh Agle), the California-based artist whose cheeky, graphic prints, according to Perihelion co-owner Amy Young, “takes you to different, engaging worlds. It is filled with riveting scenarios and an array of characters from the very bizarre to the very sexy — each one as intriguing as the next.”
