In part of its ongoing First Friday shows, the Phoenix Center for the Arts’ debut show of 2010 is a juried exhibition entitled “Japanese Friendship Garden: Photography Exhibition” and features images taken by members and lovers of the garden (Ro Ho En), located at Margaret T. Hance Park over the Interstate-10 tunnel. For those that don’t know, the garden is three-and-a-half acres of strolly peace and goodwill, complete with 300 Koi fish, a waterfall, more than 1,500 tons of handpicked rocks, a teahouse, and 50 varieties of plants. The exhibit showcases the urban-located spot in all of its glory, thanks to the shutterbug work of eight creative types.
