$10,000

With its ramshackle buildings, barren lots, and dodgy reputation, south Phoenix ain’t exactly the kinda place we’d normally suggest you hang around after dark. But on Friday, August 3, you’ll definitely wanna make the trip south of Interstate 17 to experience a thunderous, thump-filled evening of drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep, and other bass-heavy genres during South Side Sessions, which takes over El Pajarito, 3602 South Central Avenue. San Francisco-based DJ/producer Juju (a.k.a. Neil Zarama) headlines the event, and he’ll share the spotlight with England’s MC Question Mark, as well as the Valley’s “intergalactic space bass captain,” DJLEGO, and his partner MC Sica. Local support will be provided by an all-star lineup of rave regulars, including Dr. Gonzo, Frequency, CRUZ, Admyer, Pac-D, MC Redbird, Abel M., and Carmen Vega. Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission costs $15 before midnight, $20 afterwards. Call 602-354-8981.
