It’s been a while since the “men in bleak,” the Oakland Raiders, have been worth a mouthful of spit, but we well remember the days when Kenny “The Snake” Stabler was lobbing injured-bird TDs to the likes of glue-covered Fred Biletnikoff and speedy Cliff Branch. Whitaker, of course, is a bit fresher in memory as the long-time double-play partner of Alan Trammell for the Detroit Tigers. The two will be signing from noon to 2 p.m.
