Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
Burritos are the bomb, but they’re not Latin America’s only tortilla-filled menu item. There’s also pupusas, a traditional Salvadoran dish consisting of thick, hand-sculpted corn tortillas stuffed with cheese, chicharrón (cooked pork ground down to paste), ayote (squash), or other meats or beans of your choice. The fourth annual Pupusa Festival at Iglesia Luterana Nueva Vida, 2940 West Camelback Road, will offer the tasty treats as well as live dance and DJs.
