If ever there were a place designed to host punk and rockabilly events, it would be Sucker Punch Sallys. Sporting décor overflowing with retro style and hot rod attitude, the ’50s-style Tempe diner, at 4 East University Drive, is brimming with vintage guitars, paintings of souped-up racers, and other items straight from the Eisenhower era. Plus there’s the fact the tattooed-and-pierced hepcat waitstaff look like they just came from a Social D show. In other words, it’s the perfect setting for Cut the Crap Wednesdays. On alternating hump days, DJs Johnny Volume and Horsepussy take turns spinning up a variety of classic punk, garage rock, hardcore, outlaw country, ska, or whatever else is in their vinyl collection. The records roll starting at 10 p.m. and there’s no cover. Call 480-248-6673.
