Hailing from Perth, Australia, founding members of Pendulum — Rob Swire Gareth McGrillen, and Paul “El Hornet” Harding — come from musically diverse backgrounds in electronic, punk, hardcore, and metal scenes. The trio’s varied experiences in heavy music can be heard in their DJ sets, in which drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep, and house are augmented by heavy rock flourishes and punk attitude. The group has made fans of some of dance and rock’s biggest names — the deluxe version of Immersion, their latest release, featured remixes courtesy of deadmau5, Tiësto, and Chuckie, while the group has opened for Linkin Park and Deftones. The group is scheduled to perform at Marquee Theatre on Saturday, August 6. Tickets are $26.25 to $31.25. Visit www.luckymanonline.com for more info.
