Wine has a reputation as a classy sort of drink for a classy sort of crowd. At the Urban Wine Walk high-class cats can combine two tasteful, grownup things: sipping Merlot and having a designated driver.
On Saturday, September 24, amateur wine samplers and wine snobs alike will ride around Downtown Phoenix on the Light Rail – a DD that’s guaranteed not to bail. Map in hand, cork sniffers can barhop from restaurant to restaurant via train, and say cool-sounding things about nutty flavors and bitter noses. The 17 participating eateries will serve up at least three samples of various bottles, and some will serve small eats like cheese, bruschetta, fruit, and chocolates.
Participation in the wine walk is free, but hopping on the light rail is not. Grab a $3.50 all-day rail pass and get started early.
