Legendary costume designer Edith Head is a fashion icon, known for her heavy-framed glasses, eight Academy Awards for dressing actors ranging from Audrey Hepburn to Steve Martin, and quotable one-liners.
Memorable quips – including sassy bits like “I hate modesty, don’t you?” – are the basis for actress Susan Claassen’s performance in the one-woman show A Conversation with Edith Head. Claassen dishes on the design diva’s personal life, and her behind-the-scenes career costuming over 1,000 films during the production.
