A little piece of advice can go a long way. After an unsuccessful post-college year looking for acting gigs, an acting teacher suggested that Jon Lovitz focus solely on comedy. Ever since, the man best known for his stint on Saturday Night Live has been in the funny business.
In addition to SNL, Lovitz got his shine as the voice of Jay Sherman in the 1990s animated series, The Critic, and with a slew of TV and film roles. As Lovitz told the Chicago Sun-Times this summer, “My dad would always say, ‘What can you do to make the world a better place?’ Well, I can make people laugh.”
